Centenas de mensagens dizendo “Gripe suína no Twitter” estão circulando no microblog.

Entre links informativos e comentários inúteis, a rede serve também para falsos alardes e uma espécie de pânico contido no mundo todo, sobretudo, em regiões próximas as que tiveram casos confirmados.

Veja você mesmo, No site de busca do Twitter, pesquise, além do termo “gripe suína”, variações como “swine flu”, “gripe porcina” e “swine influenza”.

O Twitter, comparado com grandes mídias sociais, tem maior capacidade para causar barulho. As pequenas notas de 140 caracteres se espalham erapidamente pelas páginas, sendo repassadas por vários usuários.

Porém, cuidado com o que lê! Muitas informações estão incompletas, e causam falha de comunicação.

Em uma das buscas, por exemplo, um usuário, como muitos outros, informa sobre a enfermidade: “A gripe suína é uma doença respiratória que começa em criadores de porcos. É um vírus gripal do tipo A que pode se propagar rapidamente”.

Mas não explica como pode ocorrer o contágio (tosses, espirros, gotículas de saliva e até contato com as mãos), ou que o vírus não fica suspenso no ar. As notícias twittadas, a partir da omissão, podem caminhar para informações errôneas ou desconexas, no chamado “telefone sem fio”.

Até o momento, de acordo com a OMS (Organização Mundial de Saúde), a própria doença causada pelo vírus H1N1, na linguagem médica, não pode ser considerada epidêmica. Usuários do microblog, por enquanto, para evitar esse tipo de cituação, pode filtrar as informações recebidas e não retwittar o que ainda não é certo.
